Czech Republic - Mount Sněžka, Queen of Czech Mountains

Snežna, královna našich hor
(From a translator:
Snow, queen of our mountains)

There is a lot of small writing printed on the back of this postcard.  I put it into a translator and got this....

-25 C. Poradny vitr. Misty skoro 2m snehu. Asi me nejnarocnejsi foceni.

Translation:
-25 C. Poradny vitr. Misty almost 2m of snow. Sometimes it was not even a step. That was the beginning of March 2018 on the ridge of Krkonoše. It was the first winter horska solo carriage, I trampled in a few days a dozen km with about 20 kg of a backpack. Probably my most intimate picture. I did not know Krkosose until now. I had respect from the avalanche areas, but sometimes it was necessary for me to take a bit of a risk - as is the case in this case. I grew up beside the light frostbite in my face bringing the house not only to the sounds, but also to some sophisticated photographers. You can also find them on my facebook profile.

Telč is a town in southern Moravia, in the Czech Republic. The town was founded in 13th century as a royal water fort on the crossroads of busy merchant routes between Bohemia, Moravia and Austria.

Besides the monumental 17th century Renaissance chateau with an English-style park, the most significant sight is the town square, a unique complex of long urban plaza with well-conserved Renaissance and Baroque houses with high gables and arcades; since 1992 all of this has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Karolina is the name of an area approximately 30 hectares in size situated 500 m (1,600 ft) from the city's historic square. The Karolina area was originally used for heavy industry.

In late June 2006, the Dutch firm Multi Development won the contract to develop the grounds of the former Karolina site. Multi Development plans to invest 13 billion CZK (EUR 450 million).

Many new apartment buildings, offices and shops are planned for this new city district. There will also be a new church, a high-rise building, a large park by the Ostravice River and a university campus.

Jindřichův Hradec is a town in the Czech Republic. It has approximately 22,700 inhabitants.

The first written mention of the town is in 1220. Before that, it was probably a Slavic settlement. At the end of the 12th century more people arrived. At the beginning of the 13th century a Gothic castle was built.  Then in the 16th century, it was gradually rebuilt into a Renaissance chateau. (That is the building you see in most of the pictures on this postcard)

The Old Jewish Cemetery lies in the Josefov, the Jewish Quarter of Prague in the Czech Republic. It was in use from the early 15th century (the oldest preserved tombstone, the one of Avigdor Kara, dates back to 1439) until 1787. Its ancestor was a cemetery called "The Jewish Garden", which was found in archaeological excavations under the Vladislavova street, New Town.

The numbers of grave stones and numbers of people buried there are uncertain, because there are layers of tombs. However, it has been estimated that there are approximately 12,000 tombstones presently visible, and there may be as many as 100,000 burials in all.

It features various architectural styles including the gothic Týn Church (bottom row left hand side) and baroque St. Nicholas Church (top row in the center). Among many churches, tourists may find the Astronomical Clock on this square (top row, right and left pictures).

The square's center is home to a statue of religious reformer Jan Hus, who for his beliefs was burned at the stake in Constance. The statue known as the Jan Hus Memorial was erected on July 6, 1915 to mark the 500th anniversary of his death. (bottom left picture in this postcard)
