Greetings from East Meadow, Long Island, NY, USA! I created this postcard from my own photos. Here there is so many beautiful things to see. Lots of beaches and amazing scenic views. Of course many, many lighthouses! On the postcard you can see Horton Point Lighthouse, Hempstead house, a goat and rooster at Norman J. Levy Park, sunflower from a sunflower field - there are many of those, a parrot and beautiful butterfly form Long Island Aquarium and a view with boats and weather vane from Sea Cliff Beach. New York - Albany, Two Historic Albany Postcards
The Albany Trust Company Building at the corner of State Street and Broadway was built in 1904. In the 1960's 41 State Street was built, effectively surrounding this historic structure.

The corner of State Street and North Pearl Street has seen a lot of changes over the years! The original Ten Eyck hotel was at the corner of State Street and Chapel Street. Later the Ten Eyck expanded east to North Pearl Street. Presently Albany Savings Bank, the Hilton Hotel and a NYS office building are at this corner.

The oldest winery in America, Brotherhood has a heritage steeped in history, beauty and a tradition of fine winemaking. It contains huge oak casks where wines have been mellowed and aged for over a century, and its historic underground cellars are the largest in the United States.

New York - Fisher's Island Sound, Latimer Reef Lighthouse

Latimer Reef Lighthouse
Located in the east end of Fischer's Island Sound, the light is in New York waters but only 4 miles southwest of Mystic, Connecticut. Originally equipped with a 5th order Fresnel lens, it was updated to a 4th order lens in 1899. The 49 foot tall conical tower is made of cast iron plates lined with brick assembled on a cement filled, cast iron caisson. Originally painted all brown, it was later painted white with a brown caisson and daymark band.
Now an unstaffed station, originally equipped with a fog bell, the fog signal is now given by an electronic fog horn on the watch room deck. The classical lens replaced in 1983 with a 300mm modern optic.

Little Gull Island Lighthouse
Located on the North Fork of Long Island, NY. The first lighthouse was built in 1803, at a cost of $15,000. When the War of 1812 came to eastern Long Island, the British visited and demanded the light be extinguished. The keeper refused, and the British removed the illuminating apparatus from the lantern. The proven vulnerability caused the government to erect a hundred foot diameter wall around the tower and keeper's quarters in 1817. The wall that was built cost $24,500 and was 300 feet in circumference. In 1978 it was automated, ending 172 years of light keeping tradition on the tiny island.

Old Fort Niagara
Here the Indians brought their bales of rich beaver pelts to barter with the French, and later with the English. In return they received blankets, fancy colored material, beads, simple cooking utensils powder and lead, firearms and firewater. Old Fort Niagara, 14 miles from the Falls, is open to visitors the year 'round.

The Brooklyn Bridge is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States, stretching 5,989 feet (1825 m) over the East River, connecting the New York City boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn. Upon completion in 1883, it was the longest suspension bridge in the world, the first steel-wire suspension bridge, and the first bridge to connect to Long Island.
First jumper:
The first person to jump from the bridge was Robert E. Odlum on May 19, 1885. He struck the water at an angle and died shortly thereafter from internal injuries.

Cooperstown is a village in Otsego County, New York, USA. It is located in the Town of Otsego. The population was estimated to be 2,032 at the 2000 census.
Cooperstown is best known as the home of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. The Farmers' Museum, The Fenimore Art Museum, Glimmerglass Opera, and the New York State Historical Association are also based there. More recently, nearly 1,000 youth baseball teams descend on Cooperstown every summer to participate in some of the largest baseball tournaments in the country.
Starting in 2010, Cooperstown now has an official baseball team of its own. The Cooperstown Hawkeyes will play ball at Doubleday Field.

This is a handmade postcard with a type of 3-D paint. It is from Enamoo in Brooklyn, New York in 2007.

The Coney Island Cyclone is a historic wooden roller coaster, that opened on June 26, 1927 in the Coney Island section of Brooklyn, New York City.
On June 18, 1975, Dewey and Jerome Albert, owners of Astroland Park, were contracted to operate it under an agreement with New York City. It was completely rehabilitated and opened to enthusiastic crowds on July 1, 1975.
After Astroland closed in 2008, Carol Hill Albert, president of Cyclone Coasters, continued to operate it under a lease agreement with the city.
In 2011, Luna Park took over operation of the Cyclone. It was declared a New York City landmark on July 12, 1988, and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on June 26, 1991.
