Aland - Jarso-NATO Archipelago

The sender writes that this is Nato, Alandia and that there are beautiful spring flowers all around but very little butterflies.

Järsö-NATO is an archipelago area in Åland. Jarso has a population of 201, and Nato has 87 people (as of 2015).

The Åland Islands form an archipelago in the Baltic Sea. They are situated at the entrance to the Gulf of Bothnia and form an autonomous, demilitarised, monolingually Swedish-speaking region of Finland. The islands collectively constitute the smallest region of Finland.

Eckerö is a municipality of Åland. It has a population of 952 (31 January 2011)  and covers an area of 752.63 square kilometres (290.59 sq mi) of which 644.94 km2 (249.01 sq mi) is water. The population density is 8.84 inhabitants per square kilometre (22.9 /sq mi).

Eckerö's most famous building is the Post and Customs house. It is the largest and most impressive building that has been erected to aid the postal services between Stockholm and St. Petersburg. The building was built during the Russian times in 1828.
