Turkey - Pamukkale and More
Turkiye (Turkey)
1. Pamukkale
2. Ishak Pasa Mosque - Agri
3. Marmaris
4. Celsus Library - Ephesus
2009

1. Pamukkale, meaning "cotton castle" in Turkish, is a natural site in south-western Turkey. The city contains hot springs and travertines, terraces of carbonate minerals left by the flowing water. It is located in the River Menderes valley, which has a temperate climate for most of the year.
Tourism is and has been a major industry. People have bathed in its pools for thousands of years. It has been badly damaged in some areas, and so there are now efforts to restore the springs.

Turkey - Beyoglu Galatasaray 1928, Reproduction (Istanbul)
Beyoglu Galatasaray 1928
This is postmarked in 2010 from Turkey.

Beyoğlu is a district located on the European side of İstanbul, Turkey, separated from the old city (historic peninsula of Constantinople) by the Golden Horn. It was known as Pera (meaning "Across" in Greek) during the Middle Ages, and this name remained in common use until the early 20th century and the establishment of the Turkish Republic.
The area that is now known as Beyoğlu has been inhabited for millennia, and records show that a settlement existed on the northern shore of the Golden Horn since the time of Christ.
