Bahamas - Dollars, Paper and Coin Money

Dollars from the Bahamas

Thinking of you!

A popular Bahamian saying goes ... "May you alwasy have sand in your shoes and a dollar in your pocket!"
The Bahamian Dollar is on par with the U.S. Dollar.  The $3 bill and the 15c coin make great souvenirs!

Bahamas - Atlantis, Casino, Glass Art in 3-D

Atlantis
Paradise Island, Bahamas

Atlantis Casino - Linking the towers and spanning a seven-acre lagoon, the Atlantis casino is an innovation in casino design.  Brilliant glass sculptures by Dale Chihuly infuse the casino with a vibrant, colorful energy.

This postcard was bought at Atlantis for $2.50 in 2010.

I tried scanning this postcard several times so you could see a little of both effects from the 3-D images.  When you tilt it, the blue glass sculpture turns to a fire red sculpture that looks like the sun with twisted rays jutting out everywhere.  Also the ceiling is square and the  circles in the carpet turn to starburst looking suns and all the blue you see on the wall is an orange-red color.  It really is a beautiful postcard!

The black triangle on the left represents the unity and determination of the people of the Bahamas. The three equal-width stripes symbolizing areas of natural resource; two aquamarine stripes at the top and bottom of the flag representing the sea and one gold stripe representing the sun. The flag was adopted on July 10, 1973.
