REFFS of the BAY ISLANDS
Honduras
'Honduras' means 'deepwater'.  The Islands rise from the Bonacca Ridge thirty miles from the Mainland and the steep walls of this Ridge are one of the most rare and most beautifully formed reefs in the world.  Teach others to treat their fragile beauty with the respect they deserve.  Guard them from trophy hunters and all pollution and feel privileged to have experienced that which future generations will also enjoy and will thank YOU for preserving.

Some of the coral listed are:
Common Seafan, Sea Plume, Giant Brain, Pillar, Knobby Brain, Cavernous Star, Green Cactus, Smooth Star, Ribbon, Leaf, Saucer, Purple Leaf, Elkhorn, Staghorn and more.

This postcard is from 2014.

I checked out what he wrote and found this...

The city's growing role as a hub for cocaine trafficking has led to a surge in homicides in recent years....

San Pedro Sula topped the list of violent cities a second time, with an average of more than three homicides a day.

Honduras is a republic in Central America. It was previously known as Spanish Honduras to differentiate it from British Honduras, which became the modern-day state of Belize.

It was home of several important indigenous cultures, mostly notably the Maya.

Some of Honduras' national holidays include Honduras Independence Day on 15 September and Children's Day or Día del Niño, which is celebrated in homes, schools and churches on 10 September. On this day, children receive presents and have parties similar to Christmas or birthday celebrations. Some neighborhoods have piñatas on the street.
