The culture represented at Mesa Verde reflects more than 700 years of history. From approximately 600 A.D. through 1300 A.D. people lived and flourished in communities throughout the area, eventually building elaborate stone villages in the sheltered alcoves of the canyon walls.

For about 30 minutes my family sat around the dinner table debating if the horses were riding into the sunset, or towards the camera! One foot looks like it is facing one way, and the other foot the other direction. Also, is the tail in front, or in back??
