I was able to find out the address: Broadway and 42nd street
and that it was later named the Allied Chemical Building

now it is One Times Square (also known as 1475 Broadway, New York Times Building and New York Times Tower)

It was the second tallest building in the world when it opened. The famous New Year's Times Square Ball drop is performed annually from its roof.
