California - Santa Barbara, Coast Highway at Sunset

Along the Shore of the Pacific at Sunset

Coast Highway
In the founding of the Missions of California, Santa Barbara being the tenth, the Franciscan Padres established them a day's journey on foot apart.  The path from Mission to Mission was called "El Camino real" (the King's Highway).  It is so known today, but generally referred to as the Coast Highway, and is the main artery of travel between northern and southern California.
