Lake Superior
Long Island Light Station, original LaPointe Light Station built in 1858. A second built in 1890, a third in 1895, and a new cylinder erected in 1987. Automated in 1964, it sends a beacon from 70 ft. above the lake level and is visible from 13 miles.
