Boscombe Band of the Salvation Army was formed in 1886 and its tradition as one of the leading bands in the British Territory has been maintained to the present day.

Boscombe is a suburb of Bournemouth. Historically part of Hampshire, it developed rapidly from a small village as a seaside resort alongside Bournemouth after the first Boscombe pier was opened in 1889.
