New York - Broad Street and Stock Exchange

Greater New York.
Broad Street and Stock Exchange

Broad Street is in the very heart of the great financial district.  The stock Exchange dates from May 17, 1792, when 25 brokers organised in this vicinity.  The building is an imposing structure of white marble, 138 feet wide, on Broad Street.  It was completed in April, 1903, at a cost of about one million dollars.  The Exchange has over a thousand members, and as much as $80,000 have been paid for a seat.
