Illinois - Chicago, The Navy Pier

Chicago
The Windy City

Navy Pier designed for shipping and entertainment, was opened in 1916 and was, at the time, the world's largest pier.  Turned over to military use during both world wars, it slipped into decline for many years; but from the 1970's to 1990's underwent a dramatic transformation standing today as one of Chicago's finest entertainment and convention centers.
