Aachen is the westernmost city of Germany, its borders with Belgium and the Netherlands.

Aachen’s citizens built the City Hall under the leadership of its acting mayor (1285–1367). Parts of it burnt and were rebuilt in 1656 and again in 1883. It was also rebuilt again after all the damage it received during World War II.
