San Antonio, Texas
The siege of the Alamo continues to be debated, although there is no doubt of what the battle has come to symbolize. People continue to "Remember the Alamo" as the ultimate struggle against overwhelming odds. It is a place where men sacrificed themselves for freedom. For this reason the Alamo remains hallowed ground and a shrine of Texas Pride and Liberty.
